Places of Interest to Visit



The nearest municipalities include Pragelato , a ski resort and site of some of the competitions of the 2006 Olympics held in Turin, and Claviere , the last municipality on Italian territory before the French border at Montgenevre, less than twenty kilometers from Sestriere.

Briancon



Briancon , a stupendous 17th-century French fortified town classified by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site, Briancon lies only 30Km from our facility.

Fort of Exille



Located in the municipality of the same name, the Fort of Exilles is one of the oldest monuments in the Susa Valley and one of the most important defensive systems in Piedmont, along with the fortified complex of Fenestrelle. Over the centuries, its layout was changed several times from castle, fortress to bastion and prison, and between 1681 and 1687 it housed the mysterious and famous character called the "Iron Mask."

Fenestrelle Fort



The Fenestrelle Fortress is a fortified complex erected from the 18th to the 19th century in Fenestrelle, Val Chisone, and is only 25km from our facility. Because of its size and development along the entire left flank of the valley, the fortress is also known as the great wall of Piedmont. Since 1999 it has become the symbol of the Province of Turin, and in 2007 the World Monuments Fund included it in its list of 100 historical-archaeological sites of world importance.

Historic Turin



The first capital of Italy, Turin is a city to be discovered rich in history and culture with its small squares, Monuments, Royal Palaces and Museums such as the Egyptian Museum (second in the world only after the one in Cairo) and with its Antonellian mole dominating the city.

Located at the foothills of the Alps, the city of Pinerolo stands out with its picturesque viewpoints, churches, cathedral and an amazing historic center.

The Sacra of St. Michael



The Sacra di San Michele , a symbol of the Piedmont region, the abbey was built around a rock between 983 and 987 and is the most evocative religious site in Europe that inspired the famous novel "The Name of the Rose."

Susa



For thousands of years the crossroads of the various transalpine routes between Italy and France, Susa is a jewel of the Cottian Alps, distinguished by considerable Roman and medieval monuments. Founded at the confluence of the Dora Riparia River and the Cenischia stream, in a strategic position to control the routes directed to the Moncenisio and Montgenèvre passes, Susa is located in the center of the valley of the same name, about 40 km from our facility, and its origins are lost in the mists of time.
